A method for complex questions

Not just a better answer. A better way to think.

Strategic Prompting uses AI as a structured thinking partner: to clarify a challenge, question assumptions and develop options before committing to a solution. It connects the conversation with AI to the decisions your organisation actually needs to make.

Beyond the individual prompt

Operational prompting helps with a defined task, such as drafting an email. Strategic Prompting helps when the task itself is still unclear: Which problem matters? Whose perspective is missing? What would a credible course of action look like? It is a way of working, not a magic sentence or a collection of templates.

A structured conversation, not a fixed recipe

We move between the wider picture and concrete detail. Goals, context, questions, concepts, a closer look at critical points and communication provide orientation. The sequence and depth depend on the challenge.

Clarify the challenge

Make objectives, constraints and different perspectives explicit. Separate what is known from what is assumed.

Explore alternatives

Develop and challenge options. Use AI to surface tensions and missing questions rather than confirm a preferred answer.

Prepare a decision

Bring the reasoning into a form people can assess, discuss and act on. Verify evidence and retain human accountability.

Where it becomes useful

Typical applications include shaping a change programme, preparing a leadership decision, defining a project or making sense of competing priorities. The outcome may be a clearer brief, a comparison of options or an agreed next experiment, not necessarily a finished strategy.

What working with SMC adds

We bring facilitation, organisational context and critical challenge to the process. Together we decide which questions deserve attention, test assumptions and connect the result to responsibilities and next steps. Formats range from focused sparring to a team workshop or support across a longer programme. AI can assist the reasoning; it cannot establish the truth or take responsibility for a decision.

Your next step

Start with your context.

A focused conversation helps identify whether consulting, training or implementation is the right starting point.
